Smile Secondary Boost Problem Fixed!

Well, some of you guys know that my cousin and I have been trying to fix this boost problem ever since we bought the car 7 months ago with the problem.

I wanted to share with you what the problem was and how we fixed it since the problem was something not too many people have heard of before. I just thought it would help some RX7 owners in the future if they ever bump in to the problem.

I would like to thank the many of you who replied in the threads I put up a while back on the problem we were facing.

The beginning to end journey is at this link in the eastern section of this website. Here is the link:

We had taken the car too many RX7 shops, and none were able to repair the problem or even knew what it was. The only person that got the job done was Ray Wilson. Its all thanks to him and his great work!

That is pretty odd that a coil would cause a loss in boost.

Very odd. The problem stumped many shops in my area. They had the car for 3 weeks and still couldnt find the cause of the problem. Ray was the only one who found it and repaired it. The car was only with him for 3 days.

I'd imagine the bill for fixing the sequentials must have been pretty hefty considering you have had it in so many shops for so many days. Anyways, I'm still baffled that the problem was fixed with a coil replacement. It just doesn't make much sense that an ignition problem could cause 0 boost, can someone shed some light on this one?

I'm glad you got the boost problem fixed. My boost issues lasted for months, but now that I repaired them all myself, I can't even explain how great the sequential system is.

Ray explained it all to my cousin. It had something to do with engine and not getting the right amount of ignetion at higher rpms.

Ray took good care of us and also replaced some other parts we need to change. The bill was no where near expensive. We took it to two other shops before Ray and only one of them charged us. The bill was $750 for a full hose job and replacment of other parts that didnt even fix the problem.

Its just nice finally having the car up and running correct!

Hmm, I almost would have suspected a bad coil *harness*. Anyhow, glad you got it sorted out!
