Secondary airline blockplate?

Does such a thing exist? I didnt even know that hole existed until I did my smog test. I am deducing that this is the culprit of my low rpm noises, and would like to clear that up.

Define what you mean - the pipe going to the cat?

theres a pipe on the stock midcat that trails back to the rear of the engine by the firewall, its right below the hook you use to hoist the engine out. right now alli have is a gasket on 2 bolts and a hole. in the exploded diagrams from the mazda books its called the secondary airline.

Gotcha. I believe that connects to the air control valve, which you can get a block off plate for. But, you do need the air pipe, air pump, and ACV for emissions, and it's a good idea to keep the air injection functioning if you have a cat - according to your .sig, you've got an N-tech highflow cat.

Anyhow, an air control valve block-off plate will do the trick. Or, remove the line up to the air control valve and put some sort of clamped-on cap on the ACV's outlet pipe.

But, again, not a good idea if you've got the cat.

I passed emissions but not the visual inspection so I am borrowing the right part temporarily (I have the stock cat on right now too). My hi-flo doesnt have any extra leads off it going back to the engine bay, so does it need the hole simply to exhaust air?
You got any links to that part dubulup? Perhaps having that part will make it pass inspection, as the guy wont give me the certi simply because that hole is bare and 'something' goes there.

You'll probably have to call or email KDR: http://www.kdrotary.com/contact.html

Did you remove your airpump without using a Blockoff Plate kit?

If you still have the airpump, and plan on keeping it, you need to allow that line to still vent (you shouldn't block it off). Otherwise, you'll be overworking your airpump if you are keeping it.

^^^thanks sir

I spoke with KD roatry and they gave me the same answer. The best suggestion was to get the secondary airline and have it run under the car, so that at least I dont get the noise at lower rpms.
