How much horsepower will an RX7 withstand with the stock seals. Without blowing one.

The seals just don't "blow" because of horsepower. Detonation is what causes the seals to crack/get damagaed. Detonation will kill stock seals as well as aftermarket ones.

what about the recent post about the RA 3mm seals? someone in that thread said something about collapsing side seals before he broke his axex seals, but once again, it was detonation that did in the side seals.

are there any upgrades for the side seals/corner seals, or are the stock ones the only ones out there?

The problem with the RA seals had to do with the springs. The springs weren't heat treated in the first batch which caused them to collapse. That has since been resolved.

i wasn't talking about the RA seals collapsing, the guy in the 3mm RA thread said that his side seals collapsed under detonation. i'll try and find the post number and a link to the thread.

And what's under the seals?

what do you mean by this? i'm just simply wondering if there are aftermarket side seals that will hold up better than the stock ones (in a case like this, with the RA seals not breaking under detonation, and the side seals collapsing)?

Springs are under the seals (so if the spring fails, there is a problem).

As for the message:

according to Dragon, Van and Iggy (okinawa) they have yet to see a set of RA seals break, and this include Van's rotors where detonation literally colapsed the seal seats. the seals came out of it, still reusable.

i think the possible abuse it causes to the chrome lining of the rotor housings would be more in question rather than its durability.
It wasn't the seals, it was the seat. The seals were still reuseable.
