Sealant and Grease ?s

Ok, first off I have done extensive searching on re-sealing the oil pan and know that Hondabond and the Right Stuff seem to be the best stuff for the job. With that said, I went down to my local auto shop today. I was looking at the right stuff and it was suggested by the guy working there to try Permatex Moto Seal Ultimate Grey Gasket Maker. He said that is what he always recommends for re-sealing oil pans and differential housings. This is from the Permatex website.

MotoSealŽ 1 Ultimate Gasket Maker Grey
For two and four cycle engines. Solvent-based bond fully seals within 20 minutes. Forms a tough flexible bond that is highly effective on irregular and uneven joint surfaces. Ideal for use on frequently disassembled engines. Resists gasoline and other damaging fluids. Withstands temperatures 350°F (177°C) continuous, 400°F (204°C) intermittent.

Suggested Applications: Transmission case halves, cylinder head top covers, center & end covers (transmissions), crank case halves, cam covers, exhaust manifold seals, timing chain cases, side covers, clutch housings

Has anyone tried this stuff on the oil pan? I did a search but couldn't find a mention of it.

Secondly, the FSM calls for Organic Molybdenum grease. What are some greases that fit this bill?

i think if you're gonna re-seal it you shoudl consider the banzai racing oil pan brace so that you never have to do it again.

yes agreed~~~ I just recieved my brace from banzai racing and I am installing it in a few days maybe I should take some pics to do a write up~~~.
The material on the brace is truly heavy duty... there is no way in hell that the oil will leak again.... or at least it will definetaly lower the chances.

More over... it comes with new longer studs and self locking nuts so you can put more torque on the pan.... They really did thier research on this.

thumbs up!~~

I used motorcraft rtv sealant for use on 7.3 l diesel engines. Comes in a caulking tube 1/2 size. worked very well but a little pricey but you get 5 fluid oz.

Pan brace and stud kit also workes good. Do it right do it once!

Not sure, but I think it's just an additive and most grease that you'll find on the shelf will have molybdenum in it.

Thanks guys. If/When I re-seal that pan, I was going to get a pan brace. While I was down there I was planing on putting in some new motor mounts. I read up on those Noltec ones but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Anyone know how to get ahold of them?

Here's they're site:http://www.noltecsuspension.com/
Could also try a PM to wanklin. I'm not sure he still carries them, but he might know where to get them.
There was also guy selling multiple sets on Ebay earlier this year but it looks like he sold them all. At least none are currently listed.
