scary reliability?
Hello all. I currently own an MR2 but am hoping to make the leap up to bigger power numbers by purchasing an RX-7, 300Z, or Supra. I am most interested in the Mazda, but have been warned that the rotary twin turbo engine can be very exspensive to repair/upgrade. I've seen a few RX-7's around for sale that seem like good deals. My question is, how reliable are RX-7's? Am I getting in over my head buying a used twin turbo car with 50,000+ miles? I've never owned a turbo car or a car with high mileage. Can anyone give me advice?
thanks for your help!

I had never owned a turbo either. I've had higher-mileage cars, but never worked on them much. I purposely bought an RX-7 with very low miles, so I have time to learn a little before things go wrong.
But as you are no doubt finding out, the consenus is that they are not reliable cars but that it is possible to keep one running if you are dedicated enough. Most RX-7 owners REALLY love their cars, so they are willing to bleed their knuckles and/or spend money.
