Safe Boost Levels with Stage 1 Mods?

I bought all the parts for my '95 for the 'Stage 1' kit, which is supposed to produce 300 rwhp.

Power FC
High-flow cat
Downpipe
Cheap Bastard Air Intake
RP Racing exhaust
High-flow fuel pump

Turns out this will give me more like 250 rwhp at best with the stock boost levels. I really didn't plan on raising these levels, but I guess that's the only way to go.

What's 'safe'? 12-10-12? Or should I just not risk it? What would a 2 psi increase do for me in added power?

Driveability (smoothness of the engine) and reliability are high on my list.

Cheers,

Sam

thats alot of mods for "stage 1" dont most sites say their "stage 1" is like intake and exhaust.

by my calculations ur on "stage 2.5" all u need is pulleys, bov, and a intercooler kit to make it to full "stage 3"

i find it funny how people put this stuff in "stages"

that should be enough for 280-295 whp.

yeah u have a powerfc, get it tuned and it woud be safe to run 12 no problem.

What's safe is to take it to a good tuner and let them adjust the boost and PFC fuel maps. You'll get the most power, smoothest operation, and most reliability that way.

It may be they don't take you all the way up to 12psi if your injector duty cycles are getting too high, but 12psi isn't out of the question.

12 psi is no problem with a properly tuned PFC. Any more than 12 will require a better intercooler. The stock intercooler is really restrictive, and makes your turbos work harder than they should. 12 psi will probably get you into the "275 ish" rwhp range.

275ish sounds kinda low in my opinion.

Shoot, the car is rated at 255 stock...so, they are what, 220 or so to the wheels?

with an FMIC, radiator, and proper tuning...he should be easily 350hp. I've had friend produce that kind of power with the same mods.

You don't get "easily 350" rwhp with stock injectors and a cat. How much hp did your friend gain by adding a radiator
