SAFC Air Pressure Sensor Problem

Hiya all,
I've just installed an Apexi SAFC in readyness for a straight thru mid-pipe (i dont want to go lean). Anyway I'm quite sure Ive installed correctly (wire wise) and have set up for FD3S:
4cylinder
Diagonal arrow up/right
Pressure sensor
sensor type 04in 04out......(are all these settings correct?)

Now my problem is that when I go in to "sensor check":
sensor1=0.010-0.030 (basicly same reading, all the time!)
sensor2=4.343v
sensor3=0.345-4.345v (varies due to throttle)
Sensor 1 basicly does'nt change at all and I think this is the Air Pressure In voltage!
I'm not sure about this, but does seem to be wrong!
Could this mean that the car doesnt know how much air is going into the engine and therefor injects a Default Amount(ie very rich mixture) into the engine??????
Could someone with knowledge about the SAFC please help me out....
Michal

i had the previous generation in my FD, the SAFC I not the new one which is SAFCII. Mine had no problems reading the voltage from the pressure sensor, but I believe there was a rotary setting for the rpms. Did you have the car running when you did the sensor check?

also be careful with the safc it will lie to the computer about the pressure sensor reading, but,... these cars do have a fuel cut, so make sure you keep the boost at around 10, wouldn't want to see ya hurt the engine

Yup the car was running....
I dont know if you remember what the settings are meant to be?
I've searched this forum, mazdarotaryclub forum and web, cannot find specific setup details for SAFC I on the FD3S !.
I'm not planning on changing the boost, or even the air/fuel mix (untill i install my wideband) I want a super reliable car so even airbox is stock (but i want to get rid of cat)
Any help pleeeezz.

Sell the safc, invest the money. Pull the money out in 40 years and it should be enough to get you powerfc!

did you check apex site to download the manuals? That is all I used to get it set up. They have the vehical specific wire diagrams.
Do you have a straight through 3" exhaust now? That will be too much for the stock boost conrtol and you will spike and creep to dangerous levels.

I do remember the arrow going up as you had said but perhaps you have the pressure hooked up to the wrong wire. The lowest voltage that the map sensor will ever put out is 1V when the car is on.

Hey thax for the investment advice Bee you can be my new financial advisor!
I just wanted to check, "does the FD have a air flow sensor AND a air pressure sensor?" because thats what the first 2 sensors are supposed to be?

Yeh i set-up with the apexi diagrams, and I havent put on the 3" pipe yet. But even when I do I'm keeping the stock back box on for backpressure and quiter running,(and less boost creep)

its air pressure sensor type. in ancase, when you go to view the pressure reading during your idle or drive, what does it say?

No mass air flow on these cars, did you ask the guys in the superAFC page on here they may be able to give better details. You have to have the sensor 1 wire hooked up to the wrong wire from the ecu because the voltage will not drop below 1V. Do the rpms work, and will the car start?
