Angry sad sad day

i was driving around 35-40 miles and hour, stuck behind a car, speed limit was 50.
went to pass the car, when i turned the wheel it broke loose ( M/T Et slicks? and swung me sideways twice, when it caught traction it threw me forward i nail the throttle. it jumped from 0 psi to 19 in a matter of 2secons (it was very cold and cloudy outside) well the car went about 100 feet into the dirt. here is the aftermath.

well i ended up in the brushed about 100ft or more in, i really dont know what happen, what i gather was from the people following me. they said the side just broke loose, but didn't hear any wide throttle or anything, it was nothing crazy.. i dont remember giving it more then maybe a 1/4 or 1/2, i guess it just broke loose and when it caught it bucked and slammed me into the throttle. They are guessing its the new slicks and that is what cause it in accordance with cold cold road. yeah so this is the car.. i might be parting out depending on what i get from my insurance..
Motor start and run, i just hand it tuned for 20psi and 500rwhp, the turbo has less then 300 miles on it.

Really dont know how to feel, im sad, mad, beat down, etc... i give up..I just got the car back and is running perfect but put less then 50 miles on it..

*salute*

Saw this thread on the main page and wanted to say I feel your pain. I remember losing my first baby (car) because I would never have kids as they eat money that you could be spending on an RX-7 or paying your mortgage.

I WISH THE BEST and gluck with insurance company.

that sucks dude, but the damage (from the pictures at least) looks to be purely cosmetic. It may be worth getting fixed without all the special body panels on it.

Is the frame tweaked? The Cusco strut tower bar is pretty perked up? What's the state of the car? I know it's a tough time to talk about the damage but I'm curious if it's just aesthetics...

What psi were you running on the mt's? From what I understand you don't need to do a proper heat cycle on them since MT says they are of a different compound then other slicks, but running them cold on a cold day with GT42 seems a little like playing Russian roulette to me.

Anyway, glad your ok man, but also glad to see that body kit destroyed.

I'm really glad that you walked away safely from this, it sounds like it was a really dangerous situation.

After saying that, it is also unfortunate that we might be losing another member that contributes to our forum. Please reconsider parting the car out.

Something like this can happen to anyone, at any time.

sorry to hear this, I hate to see FDs get destroyed.
ON the bright side, if that driver side strut tower is not bent, its purely cosmetic and does not look totaled, you have to remember you are not driving a Honda Civic or an FC, the insurance will most likely fix it.

wow, seems like the frame is pretty twisted from the looks of that strut bar. Definately glad that you're ok. keep your head up high, bro.

So let me get this straight...

It was a cold day.
... You are driving a high power RWD car, one with very peaky power delivery no less
... You are using slicks that are not up to temp

And you are suddenly surprised that you can't launch into a lane change under power without losing traction?

And you ended up 100 feet off the road? Maybe you should have done a little burnout before coming out of your driveway...

Let me guess, this is the first time you are driving a vehicle that needs throttle control...

"When it caught traction" it threw you forward and you "nailed the throttle"? For your next car may I recommend something your intelligence/skill level should be able to control:

That way you can learn to drive before throwing ridiculous amounts of power into a low traction situation.

With only 4 posts; even if you do make a good point, I would refrain from bashing a guy who has helped a lot of people with their projects in this community.

Go troll somewhere else.

wow that really sucks man, but look on the bright side, it can be fixed, your still walkin/talkin & breathing, so get to work & get this fd back on the road, way to much time/money into your fd to walk away now, imo. as for the guy with a whole 4 posts trashin on this thread, judging on u being new on this forum i think u really need to keep your ignorance to yourself, ppl remember ******** on here & don't help out when u ask for help, just think how YOU WOULD FEEL if your fd was in the weeds.
