Question Rx8 differential

DOES THE RX8 DIFFERENTIAL FIT IN THE RX7 FD DIFFERENTIAL CASE?

I mean, can I just swap the rx8 diff. in the rx7 fd case ?

Short answer: Yep.

You probably could have searched for this, or asked in your 4.44 thread.

Moral of the story: do your research before you buy.

Yes. You'll be fine with the 4.44 in the diff case. Just have a shop that knows what they're doing do the swap.

i thought the moral of the story was:

take a hammer to it, anything can fit with a hammer!

both are torsens so there should be a negligible difference. however i hope you know how to properly set backlash, depth and adjust gear tooth patterns.

The rx-8 isn't a torsen. It's more like the tochigi fuji differentials found in some miatas. It has its advantages and disadvantages, but i'd pick the FD torsen if I had a choice.

That S4 clutch pack LSD is a lot more stronger then the 8's lsd from what I've read. I just picked one up for my FD because of this.

clutch LSD's are great but they have the most limited lifespan, mine has always been a bit on the weak side. with 220k miles now it has seen better days.
