Rx8 differential

DOES THE RX8 DIFFERENTIAL FIT IN THE RX7 FD DIFFERENTIAL CASE?

I mean, can I just swap the rx8 diff. in the rx7 fd case ?

Yes. You'll be fine with the 4.44 in the diff case. Just have a shop that knows what they're doing do the swap.

Ok I only swapped the wiring and pinion on my diff for the ring and pinion on the rx8 I had a whole rx8 diff .. did I just screw up or is there a benefit to using the fd diff with rx8 ring and pinion??

both are torsens so there should be a negligible difference. however i hope you know how to properly set backlash, depth and adjust gear tooth patterns.

The rx-8 isn't a torsen. It's more like the tochigi fuji differentials found in some miatas. It has its advantages and disadvantages, but i'd pick the FD torsen if I had a choice.

well that sucks, i got an 8's 3rd member LSD in the shop i was hoping to drop into my FC. maybe i'll just rebuild the clutch type S4 instead.

That S4 clutch pack LSD is a lot more stronger then the 8's lsd from what I've read. I just picked one up for my FD because of this.

clutch LSD's are great but they have the most limited lifespan, mine has always been a bit on the weak side. with 220k miles now it has seen better days.
