RX7 Short Shifter

HI guys,

Can anyone please recommend a good short shifter for the FD. I have searched and am getting mixed reviews regarding it. If someone can offer their insight on what they have and they find comfortable I would appreciate that.

Thanks...

All you'll end up getting is another mixed review.
There are ALOT of threads with differing opinions. This one won't be any different.

Thanks for the updates. No offense dude, I am a bit of a new commer to forums. I am still learning about RX7's and taking it as it comes. If this was regarding hondas or toyotas (cars that I have knowledge about) this would not have an issue.

Please refrain from derrogatory comments that may discourage new members from coming on here and seeking assitance for the fear of getting sh*t on by pioneers of this forum.

Once again your assistance with the links was appreciated.

If anyone is offended by the post, sorry! Unfortunately I had a missconception about forums, thought people joined to help others out. Hmm.....

we get like half a dozen posts per week from new members asking questions about subjects that have been beat to death already.

if you had read the New Member FAQ, you would have seen that new threads are highly discouraged as there is already a huge database of information available through searching.

this forum is not a "ask and you shall receive" type thing...it's a "put in the work and SEARCH" type forum.

after searching, if you still can't find your answer, then it is OK to start a new thread.

otherwise this forum would get overrun with people asking the same questions over and over:
what is the best blow off valve? what is the best short shifter? what is the best intake kit? can i import a rhd rx-7 from japan? etc. etc. etc.

cheers.

That's fine. But asking "which is the best" is so subjective as to be a useless question. Like asking who makes the best delivery pizza, best beer or best cigar. Three of my favorite things.

I recommend you read those links that theorie provided and/or search in TITLES ONLY with key words for more info. Probably like Hondas, the key to understanding a SS for the FD is (IMHO) that the shorter the throw, the less mechanical leverage and the more required effort. That typically results in comments referring to how "notchy" one particular SS is. How much is too much is a matter of personal taste.

Welcome to the forum...really.

Off-topic, but if there wasn't some effort by Mods and others to curb these kinds of threads and encourage more searching... the more knowlegable members would just ignore them. Most do anyway. Then all the new member would get were comments from other new members. Something that can result in bad advice and cost alot of money.
