Rx7 Models

This is a fairly dumb question but which models came with rear seats not bins? If there is already a subject about this could I get a link please? Thanks and I'm looking forward to purchasing an RX7 within the next year, just getting information about the car more.

The jdm imported ones aka the right hand drive ones have the seats in the rear. But not all of the models had that.

None here in the USA. The 2nd Gen came with a 2+2 model in the USA.

Here is a picture of my back seats. The car was imported from japan

There is no room for tall people back there. All I can carry is tiny chicks or my little brother

you can fit most asian girls perfectly in the back seats

but normal height people (hakujin!!) will bang their head on the hatch glass, in fact i would never sit any of my tall friends in the back because i'm sure the glass would break sooner or later under heavy acceleration.

USDM or JDM? Keeping in mind there's no way to legally get a JDM model in this country right now, I'm assuming you're talking USDM.

USDM Touring and PEP models came with sunroofs. Base and R1/R2 models did not. Automatic trans was only availible in the Base and Touring, but all models came with a 5-speed option.

JDM was basically the same, but the models were called different things. Some later years in Japan came with slightly shorter 5th gears and slightly shorter rear gears. I believe the RZ and Spirit R models came with 4.33 rear differentials wheras the other models came with 4.10s.

Also, automatics came with a different rear ratio, but I don't recall what it was. I believe it was something tall, like 3.83, but don't quote me on that. All models USDM and JDM came with Torsen LSDs.

For the S8 FD, Mazda changed the front bumper cover to a more modern/agressive style. It's known as the "99spec front bumper" here.

For the S7, they started using circle shaped tail lights, known as "99spec tail lights". As well for the S7 they started using a "Whale Tail" style wing. For the S8, they used a more agressive, adjustable road course oriented wing called the "99spec spoiler".

Different trim levels had different rims in japan. If you check the products page on http://www.fdnewbieimports.com he sells all of the special rims(OEM BBS rims in various colors) as well as the S8 standard rims(17" 5-spoke). He also has pictures of and sells 99spec parts(all of them).

Also, in Japan, the RZ models had OEM Recaro seats. The Spirit R Type A model had red Recaro seats, OEM. The later years in Japan came with more power, peaking at a "rated" 280hp for the 99spec, but in reality, it was closer to 280 RWHP...that was a FAST car for being stock. Later years also had more efficient turbos and more efficient engine lubrication.

I think all of this info is in the sticky at the top, though =)

By the way, Ramy can get you way more than what he lists on the website. If you have a special request(suck as a back seat or flush headlights or whatever) send him an email though his "Contact Us" form. He can be slow to respond, but he will get back to you.

The insane cost of upkeep, terrible gas mileage, fragile motor...
