I'm a little worried about taking the 7 out of state

Ok guys I just want to know If I'm over reacting.... This winter The FD is going to be converted to single as well as tuned. It currently has 52K on the motor and compression is 90 psi on all three face of both rotors. I have plans on going out of state for vacation next summer for a week and want to take the 7, But im worried about engine problems and such. My main concern is that I'm around the "rebuild'' mileage and I would hate for something to go wrong on me either on the way there or the way back.

your rebuild should be based on comperssion, not mileage.

my previous FD didn't need a rebuild until around 80k miles (as reported by the current owner), where as my present FD needed a rebuild immediately after i bought it at only 30k miles.

90psi is low, but it's not terrible. my compression was down to 86 front, 78 rear (averages) when i pulled mine for a rebuild. had a stuck (or maybe cracked) seal on the rear.

if you're not wanting to do a rebuild anytime soon, don't push the motor imo. when my motor finally went, i was just cruising on the highway.

how hard do you run yours...do you boost alot? do you run stock boost, stock parts?

that should help determine how long your motor should last. sometimes they go to 110k miles...

I really dont boost alot unless at the track and just messing around a little bit, parts include pfc, fuel pump, fpr, 850primaries and 1600 secondaries, downpipe, midpipe, apex gt exhaust, hks twin power, act street strip clutch and 13 lb. flywheel, greddy boost controller and turbo timer, greddy fmic, and some other little stuff.

For now the boost is a stock 10-8-10. When i got single it will be tuned for 15-16 lbs.
