RX7 FD3S Instrument panel not working

After I took out the engine and put it back my instrument panel is not working. The fuel gage is working but the rev counter, speedo, water temp is not working the oil pressure gage go to the top of gage if I start the engine .The mileage meter come on and display the mileage when I switch the car on and go of when I start the engine please help THX

I'd start by double checking the connectors where they connect to the sensors. Also double check the connection to the ECU and grounds around the ECU.

If you don't get more input, I will move this thread to a different section.

Thanks I did check all the connectors in the engine bay and the connectors and grounds at the ECU .I hope there is some one out there that can tell me witch connector or wiring to look for.

Have you verified you have the connector from the emissions harness to the dash connected? It's basically right above where the emissions harness comes through the firewall under the dash.

Did check all the connectors there think that one is blue if I remember right.

I'll take a wild guess that the problem source is in the electrical portion of the ignition switch. There might be internal shorting among some of the terminals in certain switch positions.

Mine did this also during a motor change, I forgot the white plug on the engine harness. The plug barely makes it though the firewall, under the dash, so check good.

Mine is doing the same but I found my issue.



Those are 3 diodes on the circuit board for the speedo. Apparently they also affect the tach and odometer. There are a few threads recently with people having this issue. I think you are #5 in a month period.
