$1-6K would cover pretty much the best deal to the worst deal.

Well, then you didn't look too hard if you think there's even a chance of getting a car (FD) without a motor for under 1G. Anything around $5K would be a pretty good deal, and even then it will proabbly need some work (i.e. paint, interior, new suspension, tires, etc.) You just have to keep your eyes open. The retail on cars with blown engines is absolutely ridiculous IMO, but that's just me.

errrrrrrrrrrm, if you were importing it with out and engine it would probably be for a reason, like, major accident history ect.

tho usually its the engines that go with out the car..............

Most likely engine fire... so you'll need more than just an engine, you need the complete wireing ahrness, and anything else that burnt up, possibly new dash, etc...

Paid 8K with overheated motor, but with new paint, new tires and rims, and like 1K in stereo. motor was 2600 plus labor. I came out OK, but if I had had the cash, I really would have rather had a perfectly maintained FD with no problems for a little more $$$. and I'm 17, so that may explain why I bought the blown motor one, (i was using my "loophole".)

I have a hard time finding one without a motor, when I was looking befor I bought mine I did find one and I **** when I found out wha they wanted for it 8k. Look on Auto Trader.com and you might find some with no motor so you can atleast get a price range.
