Running on one rotor
Running on one rotor
I have been searching and trying to find some good information on determining if a pair of mine are still good. I know Rich had a little write up that used to be in the for sale section but i cannot seem to find that anymore.
So if you have good site or some informative information let me know or point me in the right direction. From what i have found it is basically people telling everyone to have a rotary shop check them out.
I am asking because i just installed my new streetport and a used set of twins running non seq. I run the car and it sounds good. I run it again the next day and it is running on one rotor. I pull the plugs and see that there is definitely a lot of oil in the rotor housing possibly causing one rotor to not fire. I look by the stock twins and can see a good puddle of oil underneath them. I change the plugs and disconnect the intercooler piping and put a filter on the greddy elbow. start it up and bam it is running on two rotors.
The next day i pull the twins and cant see any oil just a lot of burned oil. The exhaust absolutely smells of oil. i just put my old pair back in and and waiting to see if the car runs better.
Anyone else know of another reason as to why there might be a lot of oil in the Tb/UIM or causing it to run on one rotor? besides blown twins

I'm also trying to figure this out so I pulled my entire intake system, intercooler and everything out, there was a puddle of oil underneath the twins.......so I think they might be blown (which is why they're not spooling)
