is there anything to seal there? I used the right stuff but wonder what's the purpose? will anything leak if not sealed? or it it just to hold it in place like using locktite on top of the 300+ lbs-ft that its torqued to?
guys thanks!
just put rtv and tight at torque spesificstions?
i read on some rtv instractions that i must not tight imidietely so not to swuize all the stuff out but wsit a bit snd the tight st full.
is the rtv works that way?
thanks

Looks like you typed that post on your phone
.
Many times RTV likes to set up a bit before being compressed. I've always installed immediately after applying the RTV, never had an issue.
Don't get too wrapped up on the torque figure on the flywheel, you really just need to get it as tight as you possibly can so the flywheel presses on to the tapered end of the eccentric shaft. I usually use an impact gun and just keep hammering it until I can't see it move any more. I also put some blue Loctite on the threads for insurance. Never had a problem.

This has really got me wondering....Loctite I understand, but what the hell is the sealant for? Where would the oil possibly come from?
