I just bought this car so now it's time to get this running "normal". I would floor it in 3rd gear and the RPM would reach 5k and pretty much stay there. is this a cause from boost leak? what's the prob? thanks!

 

I don't know. Even without the turbos you should still be able to rev to red-line while "flooring it" You may have an ignition, timing or compression problem.

list your mods and details about the car. what boost levels are you seeing? is it running rough or breaking up?

 

I used to have the same problem. Does the problem happen more frequently when you are going up a hill? My rpms would freeze also and it turned out to be the precat that was clogged. Therefore, I would say one of your cats is clogged.

 

wow i just realised I said 5th gear, i meant 3rd gear. and no it happened on the highway goin str8

 

does it get to the 5k fast then just stop or is it a slow acc. then stops?

 

Fuel cut or vacuum/boost leak.
