99 JDM combo lights vs. copies?

Hey guys~ I have a 3rd gen and have ordered my kit (in polyfiber) and it has the holes for the 99 spec combo lights. The thing is that I don't know which ones to get because I don't know the difference. I have seen knock offs but not the real deal. Are the real JDM 99 combo lights convex (like the projector lights in an integra) or concave (like the ones in the civic 96-00)? I dont like the concave look with the light bulb sticking out. To sum up my question are the REAL 99 spec JDM ones projectors? If they are not I'll just buy some knock offs. Thanks

both knock offs and the real ones are exactly the same thing except one isn't DOT approved and its not made by Mazda. They produce the same thing as the other and look the same as the other. That should answer your question. The projector answer your looking for will not come from me though because it shouldn't matter if both are exactly the same thing.

a couple of guys on here can do the conversion for you. i know rx7even does them for $65, someone else on here does them for i think $50. its just a painted template that looks great. just search for 99 tail lights in the 3rd gen section.

He's not talking about taillights. He is referring to these:
