Do not judge with your eyes. Use the clearance tools to measure if the part you intend to use is within specs.

That housing definitely isnt low mileage but would run. It all depends on what quality of a build you are going for. Those types of housings are great for drifters/drag racers/track cars but not something you want to throw in a daily driver.

yeah is there any chrome flake on the edge? how far has it worn? I thought the spec was 3mm or so. I've seen much more ghetto housings be used, but they struggled to build compression during breakin.

yea those housings have life left that is if they are not flaking but maybe 10-20 k left depending on the application.

Do you mean to measure the with of the housing to look for shrinkage? they dont seem to have any chipping. The other owner said that he had this engine put in from a front clip. He was basically clue less about anything with this car though. It was suposed to have had only 50 thousand miles on it, i kind of doubt that.

It definetly is not a daily driver. I just am worried i am going to put all new seals in and get low compresion. I am on a very limited budget right now cuz i have a little girl on the way due in july.

I will check the width of the housings with my calipers and see how much variance i get.

thanks for all the imput

By the looks, those housings are usable. Ofcourse new housings would be ideal, that's if you have money to throw around though.

I think i am going to use them, Im pretty sure the reason for my low compression was caused by excessive carbon build up on my rotors it was pretty friggin bad. On the upside though my stationary gear bearings were terrable i cant believe how bad but they didnt harm the e shaft thank god.
