Rotary performance pump?
I just got this Rotary Performance pump today...
It's about the size of a Grenade... I was expecting a bigger unit than this.
They claim it is enough to support 500 hp.
Is this true? Is this unit about the same size as the stock one? I have heard Walbro pumps are even smaller?
Should I consider a different pump? I'm still on Stock sequentials turbos and running 14.5 pds boost.
thanks for the replys jc.

That pump is more than you will ever need on a street car. I used the same pump to support a T04S at 1 bar.
It's pretty much a Supra TT pump but it drops in to the FD in about 1/2 hour.

Thanks guys...
I had a friend that had a external pump from "SX" a year back. And it was 4 times the size of the RP one.
But for internal I guess this one will be fine. Had another friend say it's 2 hrs to install...? Is it really
1/2 hr?
jc.
I guess I just need a little larger injectors and a RRFPR
to run a little more boost... right? 17 pds.???

you don't need a rrfpr at all...I just used the HKS which is a BOSHE one. And 2 hours? Damn what the hell were they using a pocket knife?
Also why would you want an external pump when there is a drop in that works just as good if not better.

Rotary Knight says: " you don't need a rrfpr at all...I just used the HKS which is a BOSHE one. And 2 hours? Damn what the hell were they using a pocket knife?"
With the external, I was just stating that the externals
are bigger than the internals. I will definitely hang on to this RP one.
But: HKS what? injector? is this a 2 hr install to change injectors? Would it still be possible to run 17 pds with just larger injectors and fuel pump only.
And be able to keep a fairly lean idle?
I know I am asking allot. jc.

i have a better question for you all that are familiar with the rp pump.
why are the serial numbers scraped of the top? (i got mine about 3 years ago and this was the case then), what are they hiding? when i called them up to find out, they said they have no idea what car it was from, they only said it "could" be from a cosmo. it is the exact same size as the stocker, with the number scraped off. i believe it will suport the hp numbers they claim, but what EXACTLY is different than the oem pump?
can anyone explain?

I think the pump was made by nipposendo [sp] and I guess it is a better flowing then the stock. I have one two and it sounds like the stock, it's the same size and color. Maybe this pump is accessible for a cheaper price for what they sell it for that's why they scrapped off the number?

I got mine from the local Toyota parts dealer, and installed it in a heartbeat. the hardest part was taking off and putting back on the Bose Acoustic crap System!
