Roller Needs a Doner
I have purchased a Red R1 with no motor/tranny/ECU/harness. Everything else is outstanding. Is there a place online that has everything I need one one shippable package or do I pretty much have to play the "luck of the draw" game? I see a dozen clips on "Fleabay" but I don't think buying an engine on there is what I want to do and am asking for suggestions.
Any positive points in the right direction that don't include some posting "Google Is Your Friend" is greatly appreciated!

An engine/tranny is pretty easy to find, and you can get a brand new harness for $700 from Malloy. Stock ECUs are cheap.
As long as the little stuff all over the bay is still in good shape (front wiring harness, fuses, clutch hydraulic, brakes, etc) the project will be straightforward. It's when your bay is empty that things get tough.

wow man if i was you i'd really consider what you wnat out of this car!
if you plan on making a lot of power, traking it, or daily street etc. you have a lot to concider. you are going to be spending some serious cash to piece this thing back together stock almost enought to do a LS1 swap b/c of all the shipping paypal fees on every little part you need to get to to stock. hell i have a whole car with mods for 14K for sale looks really nice and is relible i just drove it 2500miles FL to VA and back this week without a hitch if you would like to work something out b/c i want to do a 20b swap and it would just be easier to start with a bare car. but take sometime and figur out what you want out of it so you don't buy parts twice for example buying used or rebuilt turbos when within a year you decide to go single you wasted money buying the stock turbos. it will cost more money in the short run but will save you tons of time and money in the long run if you can do everything you want now. but as i said i have a 94 FD running in great condition if you would like to work something with your shell. pm me if interested

Well - I just paid for this FD. As you can see the engine is pretty bare and the only thing I don't want is A/C. Everything else I want to restore and get 270-290 RWP. I want the motor to last as long as possible with lots of TLC. I am just really scared because these things dont seem to last for **** and every car I was going to buy ended up taking a fat dump during the transaction or was DOA.
