Rice or Nice?
So ive been getting antsy waiting for my harness to come in so hopefully my rebuild will be finished (fingers crossed) and i messed with little things on the 94 fd that i wanted to get opinions on to make sure its not rice haha, i attached the pictures to the post they are as follows...
ABU shift boot/ebrake boot (still working on it)
center mount catch can (not running coolant level sensor)
halos on sleek headlights
flat black greddy elbow
sorry i just get paranoid im gonna get owners syndrome and start doing things to my car that looks stupid.

ABU shift boot/ebrake boot (still working on it) - Gay as hell IMO. If you like it though...
center mount catch can (not running coolant level sensor) - Looks good to me, so long as it doesn't get in the way.
halos on sleek headlights - More than just a bit rice IMO.
flat black greddy elbow - Could work very well, BUT it will look extremely out of place unless you get the rest of the intake piping along with the TB/UIM/LIM also.

Gearstick surround is rice. The red halos look like tail lights and will either cause an accident or a policemans truncheon to find its way up your ****. Streamlined headlights look pretty good. No real opinion on the catch can, if there was no where else for it to go then why not

Besides the point, I see you have a vacuum cap on the nipple that would normally go to the AST on the thermostat housing. THAT WILL FAIL ON YOU. Few options on that -
- Take the T-stat housing off and get that nipple drilled out and welded shut.
- Run a hose from that nipple to the nipple on the bottom of the radiator. Use a stock AST hose.
- Get a piece of AST hose, a bolt, and 2 hose clamps and use that to cap it.
That's in descending order of how good it will look. But, that will all WORK. That vacuum cap will burst on you and leave you on the side of the road.
The halos look neat, but I agree that the red color is a no-go. That's quite illegal and also unsafe. Red lights are only on the back of the car for a reason.

DaleClark,
i deleted the AST and have an FC filler neck, the line to the overflow isnt attached because it was taken right after i re-installed the tstat housing. as for the vacuum caps, the outputs were filled with JBweld and the caps were packed slightly.
so hopefully redeemed myself on that one haha.
as for the shift boots, Ill probably get rid of them haha. I had a torn uniform that i couldnt use so i figured why not.
The halos are on a toggle switch panel in the glove box and not always on so I'm going to keep those even though the verdict is "GAY" haha

Shift boot and handbrake boot- NO thanks. That looks out of place. I do like your creativity though, but use the creativity in another area
The lights I don't mind. But not red. I'd go with white.
As stated, red lights on the front of a car is illegal in most countries, and normally the only exception is for emergency vehicles. I think thats a pretty universal thing.
Dale's comments on the catch can are spot on.
The painted elbow, who cares. Its just paint and its just black. Easily changed and black blends in with everything and is always a safe bet. Loud colors are never a safe bet.
But good on you for wanting to be different

You could probably make a decent mount for the oil catch to put it on the old intercooler support bracket that goes across the engine bay. It's a bit of an eye sore in its current location.
All the other stuff is "rice," ditch them unless you're trying to fit in with the car fad kiddies.

I can confirm.

1.The camo is fine if you were actually in the military.
2. Move the red halos to the back around taillights.
3. If you're keeping the elbow flat black, paint the rest of the piping the same color.
Just my opinion, but something must have made you want to make this thread and get some approval for your mods.

i guess because I dont want ruin an FD so getting opinions from the veteran owners would help me make choices on what to keep. I'm waiting on parts to come in for my single turbo conversion so i do little things on the side so i dont get angry with the car haha. i am active duty which is how i got the abu material.

Constant threat
The look on your car's 'face' is one of, "I just got CORNHOLED!" NOT a fan of the lights.
Nor the camo, frankly...unless as others have said you're in or have been in the military and even then...meh.
There seems to be what looks like a piece of garden hose on the back of the catch-can...I think that could be made to look a little better with some standard black butyl rubber hose.
The elbow is fine.
But as others have said...it is YOUR car, man. If you dig it...then don't worry about 'acceptance' from others.
