There's your answer. If someone has something nice to say they have no problem telling you about it. If they have nothing to say on the subject it's a case of "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything...:

I bought what was a "slighly damaged" apexi intercooler from him.. and a few other bits and pieces..

I paypaled him the money.. and he sat on the parts promising to "ship today" after a few days i alerted paypal. They got some of my money back but I lost like $260 because he had used the other money.

He then shipped me a fucked up core that wasnt salvageable in any way and a water temp guage that was not as described.. then he was a **** and said he would come down and kick my ***.. I would like to see him try now.

Anyways.. Carve canem and carviate emptor!

yes.. I know what both mean.. I took latin

I read all those threads when I first became a member!! That guy was definitly a douche. Pretty sure he is still doing shows with his FD, last I saw it was an R-Magic Widebody in kameleon paint. I'd love to see him at a show and just start asking questions.

Ah, I remember that incident now, or a thread very similar to your situation.

said he would come down and kick my ***.
That's Eric for you. He said he wanted to "smash my head in with a rotor" because I called him on Bi-State Custom being able to do a T56 swap for $2,500, which was supposed to include the cost of a Viper T56 as well as full installation... riiiight.

Besides requiring an adapter plate, clutch, transmission, driveline and PPF modifications, a transmission brace, slave cylinder, master cylinder, and probably a few other changes, including wiring, he didn't even know if a T56 would fit in the car behind a rotary engine. I think he just pulled the number out of his ***, personally, which seemed to be where he got the bulk of his numbers... 601 RWHP, 2,300 lbs., 750 RWHP on alcohol, his IQ...

probably because this thread is humorous enough without any comments from him.

Here is a perspective on Eric from someone who is currently working with him......

A few weeks ago he came to my house to help me put my tranny back in. He did the work without any money upfront and came back everytime I needed him. He told me to only pay him what I thought was fair. Thats the kind of person I like doing business with.

He recently has been over quite a few times to help me tear apart my other FD to try to get it running right, and is coming over again this week. He's doing all this work for an "I owe you". If he can trust me like that I am more than happy to trust him.

I have bought a few parts off him and he even has given me quite a few parts. I have nothing but good things to say about him.

As far as his car being for sale, we all have a price that we would sell our FDs for. If someone wants to pay that much for it then so be it. I see people pay too much for cars everyday, so nothing would surprise me.

Be careful man, from what I am reading about this guy, the first thing that pops in my head is that you are in a deadly situation. Who knows when he shows up someday seeking repayment, and what it will be.

not worried.
We have already agreed on what I am going to pay him, just waiting till I sell the car after we fix it.
I have known him now for 5 months, and this guy wouldn't hurt a butterfly.

I too have had good dealings with Eric.

There are just a lot of people here who had a rough time doing business with him. I don't know the specifics though, so I can't really comment.

I just wish everything worked out for everyone.. Sucks to see threads like this...

Seems that those who didn't have problems live close by, and those who did have problems lived far away.

Hmmm, he's charging you to help you work on the car, yet the car is still having problems? Hell, move to KC!

I guess I'm spoiled by the guys on the other side of the state who offer a hand whenever asked (without sending you a bill for unfinished work). That's not to say we don't appreciated the help given. Everyone tries to return the favor, buying lunch/dinner, etc...

I lost 20 bucks for ashtray i never received. But that's not all that big of a deal to me I guess, but it kind of goes along with what has happened to other people.

Sheesh...and to think how much I'd owe all the japan guys if I had to "pay" them for help.

yeah i got screwed on a vacuum job when i first got my car. $250 for hose and labor, took 3 weeks using crappy hose, no ties on any unseen hoses, and not all the hoses were replaced. A solenoid was broken and epoxied 2gether and i was charged for a new one. I ended up getting some hosetechniques hose a month later and doing a NS conversion myself. took 3 days and got a perfect 10psi

Mahjik, There are PLENTY of guys around STL who will more than willingly help out with stuff for a beer or lunch or other FD labor they need a hand with, lol so dont let eric stereotype our hospitality.
