I can do it in one minute.
Spare yourself the agony - get an Aeromotive high flow housing and relocate it on the rear subframe. Aeromotive even sells one with a shut-off valve so you don't spill any gas (or very little)

But since the thread has already been made, maybe a link to DaleClark's how-to is worthwhile for someone doing a search in the future.... https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...highlight=fuel

I did mine a couple of weeks ago and tried to relocate it. Unfortunately I could not figure out how to get the hose clamp off of the fuel line above the differential! So just replace it but what a waste of 4 hours! Maybe next time I will just cut the fuel line to relocate it.

I just did mine today too. It was intimidating looking at it, but once I jumped in and did it, it wasn't too bad. Overall it only took me 40mins. 15 of that was forcing the lines on w/o any lube(I know, bad call). My hands only looked half as bad.

I wonder how many threads are in the archives with "fuel filter" in the title. Seems like there has been one every few months since 2001
If you don't relocate it, you're either cheap or a masochist, it's just that simple

Btw, little known trivia: the S2000 does not have a true fuel filter, it only has the standard fuel pump sock in the tank....baffling to me why Honda feels it's not necessary, but you don't hear about clogged injectors or similar issues with S2000s, either

Interesting. Assuming the sock has the same screen/filter capabilities then one would assume it should be equally safe.
I wonder if the filter is truly clogged on an RX7 or does it just brake down. There is lots of fuel, and a fair bit of heat in that area ( although it shouldn't be much different then other cars ).

The fuel pump filter socks are fairly coarse mesh, that's why they last so long. Probably in the range of 100+ micron, which doesn't trap fine iron particles, for example.
