reman question.......no dice on search
I did a search for this but I was unable to find anything specific to what I was asking. I have ready many posts that say the 13b generally needs a rebuild in the area of 70-90 thousand miles. Once the engine is remanufactured, or is replaced with a new one, how long can it last? I guess what I am trying to get at is this: Is the longevity problem limited to the stock engines or is it that you need to reman constantly like this throughout the life of your car?
Yes the 13B-REW seems to typically need a rebuild in that mileage range.
Remans should last as long as the original.
The 13B found in other RX-7 isn't nearly as fussy, my old TII is stomping around with 180K miles on the motor.

It really depends on how hard you beat on the motor. Staying at or near stock boost will result in similar life, boosting 18-20 PSI will wear the motor out quicker. But there isnt really a way to make these motors last 100K+ miles without taking the turbos off them.
