I really haven't hood good nor bad about them :P
I'm getting boost, water temp, oil pressure, nirtous, AF.

Theres plenty of arguments over the accuracy of autometer gauges vs. japanese gauges (greddy, defi, hks, blitz, apexi...) over which one is better. Do a search and you'll see what I mean. If you like them, go for it and buy them. I doubt youre fixing up your car to please everybody else.

ive seen alot of autometers read wrong, ive seen a couple of defis read wrong.
its kinda luck of the draw. but autometer has a much higher inaccuracy rate than the other more expensive brands out their.

Autometer - official gauge of NASCAR baby!
Seriously though, I would never call Autometer gauges bad, they can get the job done and the price is definitely good. But they do leave a fair amount of room for improvement. I had an Autometer boost gauge when I first got my car and the gauge was fine for about a year and then started reading irrattically (sp?). When the car shut off, you never knew where the needle would land: 2 psi, 0 psi, a little vacuum. If you knew where it shut off, you then knew where to take your baseline from. I chucked it eventually and got a Blitz (the older style that matches the FD's guages perfectly). It still works great after six years.
I personally like the Nordskog gauges for fuel pressure and water temperature because I find it easier to look at a digital number than a needle at 80mph.

I've used all types of Autometer gauges. Their short sweep electrical gauges have about average accuracy and come with cumbersome senders. Their full sweep electrical gauges are bitchin. It's much nicer stuff, but it's also 3 times the price. I have a full sweep fuel and oil pressure gauges. The senders are nice and small, they gauges themselves are very accurate, but the wiring to install them is more complex.
Short sweep (cheap, not as accurate, big sender)
Full sweep (expensive, very accurate, small sender)

Autometer gauges are well made pieces and have not let me down. Imstallation is easy and they look great. You have a variety of choices from Carbon fiber to cobalt. They seem accurate, but I have never compared them to a Certified calibrated lab instrument as some of the others might have...go for them.

About half of all of the autometer boost gauges I have seen didn't read zero when the car was off. If you want a low cost gauge VDO is very good. As for A/F I have one and it is not useless as skunks indicated. It is a good indicator that can tell you if things are ok. For example I picked my car up at a shop once and my A/F gauge was reading full rich at idle after the car was warm. This was not normal and I was able to use this info to prove to them that they F'ed up. It has come in handy several times. The confusion that causes people like skunks to think they are worthless is that you can't use them to tune, which is true.

I'm happy with my autometer sport comps. They're inexpensive, match the interior/illumination pretty well, and perform great for my needs (monitor boost, water temperature, and air/fuel at WOT).

The Ricer Eliminator
From what I heard.......actually from an Autometer rep, is if you go with Autometer, get the more expensive ones. The cheaper series end to have bouncy needles(don't you hate that).
Hope that helps.
