Overbuilt fuel system, overboost fuel cut, and a competent tuner that does more then punch numbers into a laptop to make the dyno spit out a number.

My R1 is on a to4e at 10psi, stock fuel system, power fc with the factory tune, pettit 3 intercooler, 3" exhaust and thats it for engine/power mods. I change the oil after every couple of track events with literally any dino oil I have in the garage at the time (or whatever is on sale/cheapest). I premix 1oz walmart supershit 2 stroke per gallon of 93 when at the track.

Ive had zero issues, ever, including the 15 or so track days in the past year. Engine is a stock Mazda reman with 24k miles and pulls 18hg vac at 900rpm. It seems happy and healthy and I'm not gonna change a damn thing.

OP, I'm going to be doing all of the Central Fl Region SCCA PDX events in '14. You should do a few too. Its a great entry into track events.

By factory tune do you mean the base map that comes with the pfc?

I've been trashing my FD for a few years now, mostly in autox.
The engine was built 5-6 (maybe 7) years ago by Pineapple.
There are a lot of mods to this car, but for this thread the pertinent mods are cleaning up the oil and coolant passages, a vmount setup with dual pass radiator, dual oil coolers, water injection, and probably some others I am not recalling at the moment.

HP is modest by some standards, at about 350 RWHP, depending on the weather.

There have been issues at times, as the FD gets driven fairly hard.

There is one part of this car that has not been an issue in the past several years - the rotary engine - it just works.

Yes. Base map. Only thing I have done is fatten it up 3 to 4 percent over 3-8000rpm in the pim screen. Whether that actually does anything, I don't know, but it's working for me. I think the to4e only flows a little more cfm over the twins, so, you're guess is as good as mine, but on paper it should be ok.

I like how you roll keeping it simple but you'll do yourself a huge favor with a good tune and larger injectors

A t04e with a 1.0 to 1.15 back side will make 330 or so at 10 psi and the stock turbos will make about 300 at around 11.4 (rich cool running track map) AFR. That's a pretty big difference. With a stock port I'd estimate 280 and 310 but 10 percent is a pretty big difference not to mention the difference in how the turbos spool etc......

However with all that said it appears your current setup is working just fine so if it's not broken..............
