Reliable 600HP RX-7

What do u guys think? Which turbo would make a 500-700 HP range???

For reliability I know you need ecu, radiator, i/c, ast, apex seals, injectors, etc...

what else would i need to make it reliable for a single turbo that makes 500-700HP?

thanks

Exclamation It could be done But....

A reliable 600hp could be done. But is it really necessary on a street car? Personally I have been in one. Friend and customer of mine, Louis Pereia 585rwhp on a fisrt Gen. Rx. The car is insane. On his Street tires he really can't enjoy the boost, any gear the car is in, it will break traction when the power starts to kick in. Then we get into safety in everyday city driving. I tell u it could be done but is it really what u want? For a street car I feel 450rwhp is manageable, reliable and more enjoyable.. Just my opinion...

What would this Planet be with out Felix Wankel? hmmm a lonely Piston wolrd.. Thank u Felix...

My R2: I liked it alot when I got it. Its extreamly underpowered. No storage space at all. The stock stereo was a POS. Way too much wheel gap. Ect. If you are interested in buying one you can buy mine of me it only has 7k miles on it. 2001

Wink

600 HP is great fun but not really practical for anything but seperating you from $$$$. A friend had a Lamborg. Diablo; could only use 1st gear (65mph) legally, flipped it in his DRIVEWAY!!! to the tune of $150K repair job.
But great bragging rights....

500-600 at the flywheel is nothing, at the wheels is different story, for reliablilty for 600rwhp I say you have to go 3 rotor.

No thanks with this type of SPECIAL car I would like to buy new. Underpowered, really... 0 - 60 in around 7 secs is underpowered... You must have a case of 7itis (7itis is when everything you drive after the RX-7 seems deathly slow ) But is it REALLY that SLOW? I am not concerned with luggage space or the stereo but what about wheel gap? Do you mean that the stock wheels are too small? Thanks again for all the info.

You guys are right... 600HP sound a lot for a street car. So what turbo would u suggest for 450RWHP and still be reliable for street? With less lag and full boost before 5RPM.

thanks

Actually, I am one of the fastest spyders around. I do 0-60 in 5.89 and do a 1/4 in 14.93. Its great for when you have your top down, very fun. But everytime I put my top down the cops pull me over. They tell me "clean cut guy in a sports car in this part of town there has to be somthing up." Mine is red so that explains alot too

Stock there is literally about 7 inches of wheel gab between top of tire and the body, It looks horible... like you have the car jacked up. Check my website in my sig, we got some suspension kits fot the spyder that are cheap that work GREAT as well as exhaust. No Limit is the #1 aftermakert shop for Mr2 Spyders. We carry just about everything there is made for the car. Since both of us owners have spyders

RX7, 600hp, and reliable do not go in the same sentence. If you want 600hp, and reliability, build the car and never get on it after you dyno it. All this aside, the best turbo for the job is a T66 Q with a 1.15 a/r, that's what I use, and it makes full boost around 4k. Tuning is the key to making it as reliable as possible, and make boost fast. Better have a good intercooler, good fuel pump, lines, injectors, axles, rear diff, tranny, and well built motor, no standard rebuild will take this for any length of time, it will take proper clearences on all of the seals (Apex, and side seals).

Good luck.

Jason.
