Red Interior?

My friend is thinking about buying a 1993 black touring with full red interior. I thought that the red interior only came in the silver FD's. We asked the guy about it and he says the car has naver been repainted (originally black) and the car came with the interior like this. We have not seen the car in person yet, its kind of a drive but are planning on seeing the car on Monday. I just wanted to see what you guys thought. Thanks.

Yes, there were black FD's with red interiors. The 94's were even nicer IMO. 94's had red seats, but the plastic trim was black. The shade of red was darker too. 93's have more of a lipstick red and red rear package shelf and door trim.

^_^ I own a 93 Black FD w/ Red interior. I love it, its sucha classy combo. The red isnt overdone like in my cousins foxbody where everything is red. The red interior in the FD does a real good job of contrasting red & black.

Yumm. imo.

section8 also has a black FD with a red interior. IMO, the red interior is amazing. It just looks so damn good with these cars, and it is also extremely rare. If your friend can get an FD with a red interior, he should jump on that deal, unless something else is wrong with it.

If the red interior is CLEAN and in good condition, I really like it. I'd love to find a silver w/ red interior to buy in a few years.

mine is black with red, I absolutely LOVE IT!! It's a striking contrast between the colors and it stands out. Everybody compliments me on it.

I happen to own a 93. I'm not sure if you know this, but the trim was the same on all of the touring models regardless of interior color. The red is the same on all of the models as well.

In 93 cars, red or tan interiors had red or tan door, bin, and divider plastic. In 94, red or tan interiors had black door, bin, and divider plastic. As far as the red seats being a different shade, the 94s I've seen looked darker than the 93s but that was probably due to the black interior panels.

I had a '93 silver with red ihnterior. It was a beautiful combination. I now have a silver with black. My brother has a black with red interior, and it looks just as good. Very sporty.

I agree, I think the black with the red looks great. I just wanted to make sure before we drove eight hours to see the car that it was stock. I own a black with tan and love the black with red combo.

Not sure what you mean by divider plastic? The piece that seperates the cabin from the trunk area? The door trim (handle, window switch, mirror switch, etc..)on my 93 is black, the door panel itself is red. Just like my avatar. The bins, headliner, door panels, seats, door sills, kick panels, and basically anything else that was tan on a Montego Blue touring model is red on mine. The black trim was the same.

The trim was what I thought he was asking about. I wasn't aware that they changed the color of the bins in 94

i originally bought a black with red interior FD. However by the time i got it the seats were all torn up and the paint all over the dash was peeling amongst a million other little things. This is where im at now with my interior. I have aluminum door sills that im going to put in, but probably with the gold RX-7 letters in black or red. Im also doing a 5spd swap right now so ill have black shift and brake boots with red stitching, and i also think black seat belt might look a little better. But for now it is what it is.

There was no red interior in '95, correct?
