I also think that the lower bolsters of the Corbeau make for a better street/track seat. The new fabric seems like it will wear better than most cloth race seats as well.

I forgot to ask, what are you using to cut/shave the shell?
Used a cutting disk on my drimel then sanded it down with a orbital sander. I still have to add a layer resin to reseal it.

Here are the pictures of the seat with everything back in the car. Sorry about the delay.

Showing clearance of the trans tunnel cover. It does rub a bit on the carpet when moved all the way forward:

Clearance on door side, just touches the hatch release:

Shows how I notched the composite to curve around the door panel:

Rear side of wing pictured above:

Rear side of wing pictured above with door closed:

Shot from above with door closed, it is not touching the door but is close:

Hope this helps,
Dan

Just a quick update:

I sold the FX1 and bought a Corbeau Forza. The FX1 was actually too big under race conditions. I felt like I was sliding back and forth and using my knees to brace.

The Forza bolted right in with no modification required for fitment on the Corbeau seat rail. It is snug for my large frame, but perfect when pulling 1.4 lateral G's

Hope this helps,
Dan

I'm curious how many of these seats maintain correct on-center positioning to the steering wheel like the stock seat does? It is natural that as you start lowering the seat, the seat also moves a bit closer to the door.

I sat in Adam's car at SevenStock in September and the steering wheel was just a little bit off centered from my body when sitting in the seat.

I also sat in Goodfella's and Gordon's RZ seats and it was perfectly on center with the steering wheel.

That could depend more on how it was mounted rather than the seat itself. Some guys make custom brackets/adapters to mount up to stock or aftermarket seat rails. They may not be too precise with their measurements for the brackets/adapters.

It got my point across, haha. Still haven't found a seat that works for me... but then again, haven't been looking for awhile.

About the same as the FX1 mentioned above. Yes on the Corbeau rails.

I'm sticking with the FX1 - I don't seem to have any problem staying put in it.

Hey, does this seat make my butt look big?

did you have to modify the seat like the FX1 for the two finger clearance?

No, I didn't have to alter anything on the Forza, bolted right in.

Annual bump, still looking for suggestions.

if anyone has stock seat measurements to compare, that would be great.

I may have to take some myself

Im 6'2 220# with 34-36" waist and use a recaro pole position bolted to the floor. My car has a sunroof and I just have enough clearance with a helmet. It fits me perfect in the shoulders but its a little too loose in the hips/butt area. Its very comfortable for daily driving and easy to get in and out but i wish I could find a seat that's similar in the shoulders but not quite so wide in the bottom.

Yes, non-sunroof models have some extra clearance.

I am looking at the recaro profit xl, the bolsters are 20mm wider than the pole position, but 5mm less height

There is a huge difference in length though, it's 790mm versus 710
