Pro2000's would be sweet but I didn't think they fit without MAJOR modification.

The Pro2000 was only about a 1/2" to 1" off (wing touching door). Problem is my *** don't fit in it .

At one time, I had EVO2's in my old FD. I seriously doubt you're any wider than me.

Just mounted it to the stock brackets. I had to modify them a bit but it worked fine.

The shoulder sat flush with the door panel.

Modify eh? Got any pointers, cause if it'll work well then I'll snag an EVO2.

Sat flush with the panel? So it touched it but didn't leave a dent? Any more head clearance? Or did it sit higher? I need to drop it about an inch for helmet clearance.

I had Sparco Pro 2000s in my Cobra. I wasn't aware that there was multiple versions of this seat but these didn't have any "wings". I am 6'1" 230. 36" waist, chest is about 50" or so. Lift 5 days a week +. I fit in them comfortably. If they fit in the RX-7 they might be a nice choice. The Evo seats seamed a little cheep looking/feeling in comparison. How big are you anyway? Got any pics?

Nothing recent - I can take measurements of whatever.

Have to measure my chest.. it's probably a 46-48, not quite as huge as you. My coat when I was in the service was a 44L, but I've put on some size since then so I'd guess 46 ish.

My last suit was a 48L but its too tight in the shoulders and arms for me now. The Pro 2000 seats had plenty of room for me in the upper body area. Tightest part was around my hips and quads.

sent you a pm with the info.......

head clearance, I did have to somewhat slouch in the seat when I wore a helmet........ but I've got a huge head and at times....... my hair gets out of control

They fit nice, though.......... little snug in the back area but I'm far from normal

who measures their chest ?

okay, I just did....... 54"

That's a frightening picture, like you're about to go set someone's house on fire or murder their dog.

Haha I was trying to demonstrate how I fit in the seat. I think I actually took that in a car wash the day I sold the car.

LOL its on my upper inside forearm. Cut myself on a heat shield the night before. You're gonna want to measure chest if you ever want a suit that fits right. Speaking of which, maybe my measurements are off because I can't even put on my 48L suit anymore without fear of ripping it. Also, if you want to spend the money you should fit in the Spirit R or RZ seats. I fit pretty well in Goodfella's and they fit the car perfect without rubbing. If you look at them compared to SPA or SPGs you will see they are actually contoured to fit the center trans tunnel.

He's about to go drive to a customer's house to sort out a bounced check

Ihor does indeed fit in my Spirit R seats, although I don't think the foam will ever recover it's original shape from having 250 pounds of Ukrainian stuffed into it on the long trip to Deal's Gap and back.......

Btw, since everyone else is getting in on the act, I just measured my chest . 44 inches, waist is a 33 inch. 5 foot 6 (I tell the ladies 5 ft 7 tho), 187 pounds. I fit snuggly in the Spirit R seats, they provide good lateral support and I'm quite happy with them, despite the price tag. I will say that if my shoulders were much broader fitment might be a problem though. I think these seats were made by and for 100 pound Japanese guys

Didn't like the look of the Kirkey, eh?

FWIW, I DON"T think you can get away with mounting any other seat on the stock rails. It just won't sit low enough. If others got some of the "big" Sparco seats in, it may be precisely because it sat up higher to clear the door. I DO remember seeing an old Sparco "America" (the old name they used for "American butt sized") fitted in John Duff's old car though, I believe on a fixed mount.

Spirit R's fit because they've been specifically carved out to do so, and have lower bolsters that are likely to fit a wider variety of people.

As far as the kirkey, I just don't like the idea of an aluminum seat. Especially when I am not mounting it to a cage.

According to VWH - he used the EVo2 with stock rails.... might be something I'll have to take to a shop and have them fab up. I don't care if the seat sits all the way back, in fact I prefer it that way cause I'm tall.

I need to find a measuring tape.

If I had to guess I'd say...

46" Chest, 36" Waist, 235lbs, 6'3"

What about Corbeau A4's? They are pretty narrow for tight cabins. The do recline though. Also, we have a customer's car here with some kind of Recaro seat. I'm pretty sure it doesn't rub but I can check.

I think you're going to have a problem with stock rails. I've got a custom Sparco rail mount for my seat that probably sits an inch lower. Now that I've played w/ the adjustment, I'd rather get a fixed rail to match, because w/out the rails you can lower it another 3/4".

I also have a stock rail version for a passenger seat if I ever get one. I did mount my seat with it just for grins, and I'd doubt it's any lower than a factory seat is.

Yeah, a fixed rail would probably work best.

I checked the Recaro seat and it fits pretty well. I believe its the pole position model. It just barely touches the door panel. I fit in it so you should be ok.
