Recommended Racing seat for the 'large and in charge' - aka fatass/wideass?

I'm 6'3, 235lbs. Not exactly a small framed guy....

Most of the racing seats are made for men who are built like women. Or 'average' size. I am looking for a seat which can comfortable accommodate someone who is larger than the average joe.

Back/shoulders are a bit broad so most seats are going to be somewhat of a problem, but I need something that is not so "enclosed"

If anyone has any recommendations please pass them this way so I can pickup a set of seats!

Thanks!
Darren

There are tables of seat dimensions on this site for Momo and Sparco seats:

Looking at bride's online, widest they over is about 490 millimeters = 19.2913386 inches, however their reclining seats go up to 510mm

I'm 6'4" 245 so I feel your pain.

I've been looking for new seats and have test fitted several. Here is what I can tell you so far. Don't get a tube frame seat, you will find with your big ... um... "behind" that the bars will dig in and after awhile make your legs go numb.

I have found several that I can fit in, problem is they don't fit in the car. I think am going to go with a Corbeau FX1 and just cut off one of the wings.

Have sat in one and it is a good fit, but it has the same problem as other winged seats, the wing hits the door in my mounting setup (low to the floor). I've also tests fitted a Sparco Pro2000 with the same problem. Wings need to be under 21.5" to fit without touching.

I have not found a "Big" seat that fits so rather then cut a $700 dollar seat, I have decided to cut a $300 one .

Bride Graduation (aka ERGO II) is
540 millimeters = 21.2598425 inches

Base is 480mm, not sure if that is wide enough though.

The evo 2 is really wide in the base.

Here is a chart for Sparc seats: http://www.sparcousa.com/resourceFiles/26.pdf

I can tell you that a Pro2000 F fits in the car fine except for the wing. It would have to be clipped about an inch. The EVO 2 looks very close in overall size.

Evo3 would be great if it wasn't so damn wide.

Yes, it would suck cutting all that crap up, damn fd.

Holy **** man, eat some food quick before you die!

You're rather tall for that weight. Geezus man, weight gainer 2000 ftw. You guys with your crack metabolism... should let me borrow it sometime to drop 15-20, haha. Just screwin with you though... it sux for either extreme I suppose.

Yeah, ideal weight/height for most jap cars is probably 5'6 to 5'10, 135-175lbs

Whatever will fit you won't fit in the car, without modification. My little Euro-sized butt fits in a standard EVO, and that required slight shaving of the wing, and still touches the door.

I'm 6'3" and about 230 so I hear you.

I have found two solutions that work(ed) for me.

Option one - Get some sparco torinos, or their knockoff seats on eBay. (I used DAD racing seats.) You will need to mod your rails, or buy others, but they are much more comfortable for the butt and particularly the thigh region for the big guys and give ya like 1-1.5" more headroom. Also they are recline-able. About the biggest seat that you can squeeze in there.

Option 2 - is the Recaro RZ seats as much as I hate to say it since they are so incredibly pricey. They fit big guys really well, are very comfortable, with easy ingress/egress vs. the Recaro SPGs.

Don't even try for the memoryfab, they are way too tight.

I thought the Recaro RZ's were the same size as the SPG's?
