Reccomended first mod
Reccomended first mod
In the coming months, I will (hopefully) be buying my very own 3rd gen RX7. The very first thing I will be doing will be to put a stereo in, but I was wondering what you RX7 gods would reccomend to be my first performance upgrade?
Additionally, what size speakers fit in the front doors? From the pictures I have seen, they look like 5x7s, but I would just like to make sure. Thanks!

relibility mods should suck up about 2-3k and should keep you busy for a while, why not do those.
BTW: even with all the relibility mods, your fd will still be unrelible as ever hehe (especially with out any tuning done), its just a fact of life; After all, it is a 10 year old sports car...

I agree that the downpipe is one of the best performance and reliability mods for our cars, but it is far from the simplest. In fact this mod can be intimidating if you've never been under the hood.
I would recommend this. It's not difficult to install and will give satisfying results.
I found speaker size help at:

Personally I'm preferential to JBL or Infinity as I work for them.

Deal with the temperture gauge early on, too. Either add aftermarket gauge(s) or linearize http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/G...technical.html your stock gauge if you want to keep more of the OEM look.
thanks for all the help and quick responses, and thanks for the heads-up on the search funcitons...seems like that is a universal answer to everyone's questions. I guess I will try and keep up with the forum until I get my own r1
