Recall #SSP39 ENGINE CONTROL UNIT

does anybody know anything about this recall? If it means I can get my ecu replaced for free in warrenty by a dealership, then I may not have to worry about buying an ecu to fix my air pump problem ! its worth a shot

I think this recall was to fix a problem where the engine would occasionally stall when you would let off the gas when the engine wasn't completely warmed up. I had this recall done when I was still running the stock ECU and it did fix that problem for me.

They will reprogram your ECU - they will not replace it.

It was the Mazda dealership in San Jose, CA that did and that was 8 years ago though.

YEA IT IS.....BUT....i went and called up mazda and asked them for the current recalls....scedualed an oppointment and they gave me a used BROKEN ECU....pluss when i flored it it felt like someone was playin tug-o-war with my car. and so i took it back and they said thay cant reinstall.....once i argued for about 20min. (also they said my car was like that BS.) they reinstalled mine for me, but i had to pay $65.00, and this was about a month ago. but now i think my ECU is going bad (my old one).....so ima have to try another dealership......hope this helps, and good luck with yours, also be sure to check the mechanics date (when ever a mechanic installes somthing he dates it CHECK THE DATE TO BE SURE, MINE WAS DATED IN 98, FAKE MOTHA F****)

Yer more evidence (if it were needed) that Mazda dealers should be avoided.

Just buy a used one in the classifieds for $50.
