Thanks. Crossing my fingers I’ll have those two wires dangling also. Either way running new wires aren’t so bad. Thanks for the quick response glad some of you guys are on here for newer owners like me.
I just did my rears and would have looked for the spare connectors if I saw this. Either way running from the bose connector was short and easy.
I'll toss in that I'm very happy with my decision to add a small powered 8'' subwoofer. I wasn't looking to go crazy...it adds just the right amount of bass.
Now here's the fun part - after building that harness and getting the speakers working, some time later I started to tackle some interior restoration work, and after removing the bins, I found a small white 2 pin connector dangling down on each side that was connected to nothing. A quick ohm meter test later, and I discovered that these dangling connectors were in fact speaker connectors that I could have used! Apparently at least that part of the wiring harness.is common between Bose & standard RX7 audio systems, but if you go by the FSM for the Bose model, the wiring diagram does NOT show the existence of the unused wires that are there as a NC (no connection).
Dammit, seriously?! I found those connectors and didn't figure out what they went to haha. I ended up running my own wiring also. I prefer using stock or limited wiring as much as possible.

so yours also had the connectors? I have my panel off And I don’t see any hanging white connector.

They weren't easy to find on mine either - I didn't find them until I had both the B pillar trim panels off and the bins out later. It will be a small, white 2-terminal rectangular connector, and the wire colors will be the same as what is stated for the rear speakers in the FSM for the Bose system.

ok give me some direction. Behind the padding. Lower near the bins? Near the sunroof drain? Here’s a pic for reference. I’m gonna rip this car apart after work tomorrow To find them lol.

I wish I took a picture as it was months ago but I'll try, with the caveat that my FD was molested so many times by multiple PO's before I got it that it's quite possible the routing of those wires I found isn't exactly compliant with OEM design. Anyway, I found the passenger side one first, roughly in the area indicated by the red rectangle that I drew in your picture. Coming up from below rather than dangling down from above. Like I said, I only found it after pulling the bins out when I started to restore the interior and de-mod the battery relocation the PO did.
I pulled the B pillar plastics to find the speaker wires, but I only found the one on the passenger side. I have looked everywhere on the driver's side and I see nothing. I'm getting very aggravated by this. I haven't pulled the bins out yet, but I have the bottoms cut out and they're cut pretty high so I can see the whole floor and I still don't see anything there.
As it turns out, that connector I found doesn't ohm out with the stereo connectors, so I just ran new wires from the Bose connector (I de-pinned the one on the speaker and had some pins that worked with it). Oh well. At least it's cleaner than it was, even though you can't see any of it anyway lol.
I had my rear bin out several years ago, but I don’t recall seeing any lose connector. Might try to look for them again when I overhaul the audio system.
I am starting to make the rear speaker bracket from the template https://www.rx7club.com/interior-ext...plate-1096827/
The 68degree angle on the long leg seems wrong. It looks more like 168degrees.
What have folks found that works?
Also, does anyone have a pick showing where the former Bose rear wires are located, I dont want to tear things apart I dont need to.

For the bracket part, scroll up to post #9 of this thread to see what worked for me. Note in that post the template didn't print out perfectly - it's proportions were correct, but the printer (at least at the Staples store I used) scaled it down ever so slightly, so I ended up using that template, plus the oval cutting template that came with my speakers to free hand draw a new template with slightly longer legs. I don't recall the exact angles I ended up with, but the pictures of my bracket in #9 should give you a rough idea. It will help to drill the holes for the mounting bolts on the larger side to give yourself more wiggle room for the installation, and I'd use aluminum sheet in lieu of steel to make the bending easier and more forgiving in case you need to make adjustments during installation. 1/16" AL sheet was plenty sturdy for this application, and easy enough to cut & work.

Scroll above for discussion & pictures on this. There are a couple of options here. If you're lucky, you might find both of the small white speaker connectors for the B-pillar speakers - but they tend to be hard to find on both sides. Easier route is to find the J2-04 connector in the trunk area where the Bose amp/tube was, de-pin the 4 speaker wires from that and build your own harness to the 2x new speakers
I found the Bose connector, thanks allot.
I printed out the template with the measurement in the pic below 12 15/16.
I am going to cut a test bracket using a $5 thin metal sheet to test if the template as printed will work.
Then if it looks good will use the 1/16 aluminum sheet I bought ($30)for final cut.
I used the Kicker CSC68. They almost touched the seat belt reel. You can check their specs online for depth. There is some room from top of the speaker to the grill if you wanted to pad up to get more depth.
Also I used the dual paper method from the same thread since I could only print in 8.5x11
This template worked great.
I had only a dremel to use to cut the aluminum.
It took about 2.5 hours for each speaker from start to car install cutting the metal taking most of the time.
