3rd Gen Speaker Wiring Cheat Sheet

For those replacing the factory speakers in the 3rd gen ("type 1" -- not Bose) I made myself a little cheat sheet that may be helpful:

FSM pages:
J1-5 for head unit connector descriptions/codes
J1-11 for speaker connector codes/colors
Z for wire color codes

FYI - For those of you with FD's formerly equipped with a Bose system, the above wire color codes for the speakers are the same. The only difference is the 4 rear speaker wires will go to a 6 pin plug (J2-04) located in the driver's side (USDM) trunk area where the Bose rear speaker assembly/amp once was. The other 2 wires in that 6 pin J2-04 connector will be a B/O and B/R wires for the Bose rear amp. So if you need to install rear speakers in the B-pillar panels as I just did in my formerly Bose equipped FD (had no sound system when I got it), you can simply de-pin those 4 rear speaker wires from J2-04 and run a new sub-harness to the new speaker locations. The other 2 wires can stay in the old J2-04 connector and remain unconnected.
