rear seat install

hey guys im wondering about installing rear seats, i did a quick search but didnt see anything. i installed rear seats in my car the other day and im wondering if there is a bracket that attatches to the strut tower and then the ubolt bolts to it so that the back part of the seat can latch in to. does this bracket bolt or is it welded?

My 2002 Rx7 rear seat attaches as per the photos. Two bolts into the rear shockmount. Hopefully this is what you were after.

Cheers,
Mike.

USDM FD's don't have the holes on the strut tower to mount that bracket. Your gonna have to weld it on if you want the seat back to latch.

A plate with a bulge & two threaded holes is spot welded to the tower. You can then bolt the male catch part to it (The piece you can see in post 2.

Latch it then hold bracket in place. Mark the holes with a punch or scribe. I just used self tapping bolts. Works fine.

I ended up buying some of the stamped sheet metal brackets that were removed (spot welds drilled out) from a JDM car. I can take some pictures/measurements of them if youd like, but yeah, you need these welded or rivited on to make the latch work. If there are enough people that need them (yeah freaking right ) I could possibly replicate them.
