rear main seal = exhaust smoke?

could a bad rear main seal cause smoke to come out the exhaust?

I don't see how that would work. It would be leaking oil between the bell housing and motor. Not leaking it into the combustion chamber.

+1 leaking rear main seal will make your clutch slip.
