Rear Clunking with Eibach Prokit/Tokicos?
I posted on the suspension forum, but not much help there...
The combo is tokico 5-ways, eibachs, and eibach sway bars.
I'm goin to be purchasing a car from someone with the above setup but i can hear pretty distinct clunking coming from the rear...most likely the strut/spring combo, as if the springs are moving aroudn? not sure. Is this normal? and if not, what is most likely the problem?

Thanks for the Springs..
havn't gotten them in yet..
But the clunking you are probably hearing/Feeling
are the bushings, that probably need to be replaced..

I do know that when I replaced the diff bushings, alot of the clunking went away, so in my case it was a mixture of the diff bushings and suspension bushings.

whiteRXseven. I'm glad you got them fine. You should be happy with them.
And i went ahead and did a search on this. Turns out it's an $$$ problem. Seems like it's popular to go and get the pettit toe-links and some of the other bushings
Total looks like it will be 500+ ouch! thank god a lot of this is DIY.

It would help if you specify the conditions when it clunks.
-Is it when the suspension is under a hard transition e.g. going up a driveway at an angle? This is possible if the swaybars are out of adjustment.
-Is it clunking under engine speed changes? I'm replacing my diff. bushings in hoping to fix this.

It's mainly clunking over bumps more noticeable at slower speeds.
The car could be in neutral coasting down a hill, go over some bumps and then i hear clunking in the rear. over a pothole, manhole, whatever, makes the same clunk.
It's not the sway bar bushings, and nothing to do with the drivetrain.

Aha! Go to the Mazdatrix suspension page. It may be your camber links.
I'll save you the time:
"Stock Rear Camber Links
This (two per car) link goes on the rear control arm, forward, inboard end/pivot. When they go bad, you get an minor, irritating "clunking" from the rear when going over bumps. They seem to wear out most often on convertibles -- must just be the extra weight in the rear?

Dunno, go to www.mazdatrix.com and check the suspension section for your 3G.
