I'm swaping a 5 speed into an automatic car.
Should I leave the auto rear end on the car or change out to the 5 speed rear end.??
What would be the +'s and -'s of either way??
Thanks

It depends on the power your engine is making and car usage.
Mine is around 400 whp and a street car. I went 3.90 to reduce tire spin in 1st and 2nd gears. Which it helps. But I also went with the .806 5th.

I found a 5th gear error for running 255 tires with 4.1 diff.

Corrected:

4.10: 1st 38, 2nd 66, 3rd 95, 4th 133, 5th 165 - 22 mph per 1K rpm in 5th gear.
