Upgraded Intercooler 24x12x4". was going to go front mount, wanted a different look, went with V-Mount. Told my friend what i wanted, custom V-mount setup, did a great job with god-like ducting. comment....

Looks good but before you claim god-like status you might wanna fix all the "little" imperfections like sealing off the area at the "V" section and completely sealing up the sides rather than only going half way up on the ducting.

and maybe fab a god-like bracket for your dangling AST....

Great start though! The intercooler looks like it fits perfectly

Yep, you need to tighten up that "V." You have a huge gap there.

a huge intercooler doesn't make it "god-like" -- you have a lot of things to fix about it first...

I didn't want to contribute to the flogging you've received, but what's up with those endtanks?

Looks great, buddy. Nice work. Like some others said, just tighten up that "v" and it'll be perfect.

Talking

Considering a front mount intercooler had to be modified by redoing the endtanks to fit 3in. o.d. tube and the fans rewired to blow up through the bottom of the radiator, taking a race application and making it into a fully functional streetable use, It seemed to turn out great. Thats why there is a gap in the rear, plus the upper radiator hose clearance will not allow for a rear ducting plate to be fabbed up between there. oh and I almost forgot, this was not some half *** kit you buy online. I know the guy who did this, and for not knowing a lot about cars in general, and just having 2 magazine pictures and input from friends to go by, that guy can sure produce a nice end result in a weeks time.... Just a thought to all the critics on here. No one will ever have the perfect setup or perfect car. But we all sure do try...

Then fill it with foam, or fabricate a v-shaped panel that attaches to the side ducts. I won't argue that it isn't better than the stocker, but it could use some finishing.

I don't think anyone will argue the the quality of work performed here isn't top notch but leaving those gaps there completely defeats the purpose of this setup. Surely your fabricator can make some small adjustments to the fitment to allow propper ducting. If not, then the OP would have been better off with properly desined kit. Hell even a FMIC setup would be more efficient than this...

If I am to take this literally, then the fans are blowing from the bottom up through the radiator (and into the V)? Would that not be self-defeating?

Am I the only one who thinks the ducting looks like ****? The ic itself looks good though.

+1. that makes no sense.

it still makes no sense based on how you first described it. air would need to be sucked from front (top) to back (bottom), which is how most people build v-mount setups.

there are like 3 other "look at my custom v-mount" threads active right now. take your pick.

when are people going to start calculating inter cooler core size to their turbo specs.

Looks good, but bigger cores cause lag.

Pre-turbo AI + calculated IC cores = Maximum cooling efficiency & turbo responsiveness.

Not trying to be smug.

It looks great, but I'd change the name.

These are real "god like" v mounts
directly below the vent in the hood which is proportional to the vmount

notice the hood

Easy there trigger.... A good V-mount 1) should not be rushed in building and 2) there are several examples on here with pics that could be used as reference. Lots of ppl on here have fabbed up custom vmic's instead of purchasing them. They are not really rocket science. The fab work looks great, but I am afraid the critics on here are correct. It just needs finished up. The builder is obviously committed to a nice clean look and should not have a problem fabbing up a plate (or just use high desity foam) to make rear-sealing duct work. Most are simply just trying the help the OP get the most out of his new setup. With the way it is now cool air WILL take the path of least resistance and simply blow across the IC and radiator (instead of through them) thus severely crippling the cooling functionality. With the rear sealed and that very nice hood, charge temps should look phenominal (and contrary to your thought, quite perfect).

This was my thought as well.... If so and it is blowing up through the rad, then it needs rewired back to stock... It should PULL air from the "V" section and force the hot air out from under the car. This clears it away from the engine bay as well further helping under hood temps.
