I added some Toluene to my car today (25% mix)
I got out to drive it and test it out, pulls harder ect... but it knocks upto 125!
I have the stock knock sensor, most of the time it reads 45-55.
It doesn't constanly knock higher than normal it just spikes like 1 or 2 times to 100-125 through the rev's.
The car runs alot smother and idles better. It's running better in every way!
But the knock is really high... Should I be worried? Should I delute it?

Toluene doesn't burn in the same ratio with air as gasoline does. So by putting 25% toluene in your tank, I'd guess you were really about 10% leaner overall compared to gas.
When you run toluene, you need to use MORE of it to burn up with the air.

You also want to be careful with your oiling in your engine... I've heard that running over 20% Toluene is bad because it washes oil off the inside of your engine. I'd add some premix if I were you. I dunno how true it is, but better safe than sorry right?
Damn, I wish my dad was here, I could ask him about this, being a chemist and car guy he would be real useful. I know he has mentioned burning the 55gal drum in the factory full of toluene in his Supra and my FD, but, thats as far as its gotten so far. If I talk to him soon I'll ask what he has to say about it. Good luck anyways, Josh
I would not run over a 10% mixture without retuning for toulene. I'm not a chemist so this is going to sound pretty rough, but here we go
. In laymen's terms, toulene's perfect stoichmetric mix is something like 11 to 1. (gas is 14.5 to 1 I believe) so, even if you are running pig rich at 10.5 to 1 for gas, your pretty lean in terms of toulene.
I run one gallon of X or T in every tank full that I put in my Car. I also add 4oz of MMO to compensate for any lubrication inbalance. I have not had a problem in over 4 Thousand miles.
