A real Quick question about gauge wires.

I tried searching and couldnt find anything. I just got the Defi D-series boost gauge and i installed it and it looks and works great. All i need to do now is to install the wires for the light. I know exactly how i am am goign to route thema nd everything i just dont know where which wires to splice them into. The boost gauge has one white wire and one black wire coming out of the back. I have heard that you need to splice it into the ashtray light, but when i looked at the wires going into it they were both red and exactly identical. I just want to know which wires i should splice with what. Thanks for your help.

When I installed my defi gauges as well, I spliced into the left one ( I think...) but really it doesnt hurt if you open up both the wires and just pick one for ground, and one for the power, and if it doesnt work, just flip the wires around.

Im pretty sure it was the left one though lol.....

I spliced into the ash tray light. I don't think it matters which goes to which. Don't cut the ash tray wires. Use an in line splicer.
