As for hoods with cowl induction, how do yall go about keeping the rain out of the engine bay when the weather gets bad??? I know the Evo has a screen, but what is your method of choice?
most aftermarket vented hoods come with rain guards, I know this one did since we put them on yesterday just in case, lol. If you have a hood without gaurds, well some say its ok to get water in them and some say it isnt so who knows.

And the rain guards are just screens? And could somebody show a pic of what this hoods looks like with the guard showing. Sorry for the newb questions.

just curious. down the line when i get a car worth modding, then a vented hood would be very nice to have imo

Would also like to hear how the temps compare.
It would be a shame to paint over that CF. How much was shipping? I think I'm about to get the KS hood to help combat heatsoak.

Looks great. I don't see a problem with painting your hood. BUT,..just paint the top portion and leave the underneath CF stock.
When you open the hood to show your muscle, everyone will see that the hood is CF. Pretty cool I think!!

To Paint or not??
I went through the same decision myself
After 12 months of the CF hood, I really don't think I'll paint it... it looks great, and ALWAYS attracts attention at shows/ track events etc...
I kept my standard hood too, and it only takes 2 minutes to change over if I really wanna be all red

yeah it could be but if you get one of these cars there are ALOT of things to do for reliabilty before looking into a vented hood. Seeing as how you only have 5 posts, you have alot of homework to do.

As far as temps go, here's what I've seen so far according to the PFC Commander:
I did a few hard runs with the old hood a few days before installation, and after letting the vehicle sit turned off for 20 minutes, I would see around 117F on the PFC Commander.
With this hood, after doing the same run and letting it sit, the highest I have seen after 20 minutes was 102F, and that is during similar outside temps.
Keep in mind, these temps were measured without using the fan mod, with the car just shut off after running it. It's obviously cooling the engine bay much better now.
Now as far as temp difference while driving it, my fans are set to come on a 99F. With the stock hood the temps used to bounce between 94-99F while driving. With this hood, the only time I saw 99F was pushing it VERY hard during a few races. Otherwise it stayed between 89-94F most of the time.
It's very cool to be able to see the heat rising through the vents when sitting at a stop light.
