RE Dual Oil Cooler Kit

I am running a single turbo at 15.5 psi now but I am getting it tunned to 25 psi on race gas this spring. My car is only running the stock single oil cooler currently. I was thinking that I should consider an upgrade now as it is one of the last things I could do to the car. Is there any down side to running Rotary Extremes dual 34 row oil coolers? Can the temperatures actually drop to low? Im thinking that I might as well just get the best kit going now and it will be good for anything thrown at it. Any comments would be great. By the way is anyone running this kit now and what do you think of it?
Thanks

I run the dual 25-row kit. I have a tough time anyone would ever need the dual 34-row kit.

During typical street driving, my post cooler oil temps are below 180F. The hottest they've ever gotten at the track is after several minutes of lapping in 103F heat and with 230F water temps -- the oil temps hit 225F.

I would not get the dual 34-row kit unless I:

*regularly road-raced the car in over 100F heat
*owned an aftermarket front end with huge oil cooler openings -- Mazdaspee GTC for example

Don't throw away money just because you think it's the "best" kit. The dual 25-row is way overkill for street driving.

i agree. i have one single 25 row and its probably too much for the street. temps never go over 180 even after getting on it hard. on the track at nasa events it climbs to about 200-210.

The car has the wisesports front bumper on it. Is there any way these upgraded oil coolers can cool the oil to much? Since I have heard that a lot of the engine cooling is done via the oil cooler on a rotary, I was wondering how much this will drop engine temps.

oil coolers use thermostats to regulate the cooling. If you install them with the thermostat they won't overcool the oil

Exactly. Most oil cooler kits (and the stock lines for the R2) open up the path to the coolers at 180.
