The one is just a stock replacement, the other version has the filler neck moved. The stock filler neck is to the right of the power steering line whereas the other version is to the left. Gives additional clearance for setups like this
As shown in the pic above, some aftermarket throttle elbows and piping run closer to the strut tower (my hks setup does). The RE tanks have a taller filler neck. Moving the filler neck to the left avoids collision issues. The standard tank is meant for factory throttle elbows, like below
