I just replaced my pilot bearing to fix the same problem. Upon disassembly I found that the bearing was visibly damaged. Be careful upon reassemblyto get things lined up to avoid damaging the bearing or seal. Very quiet now.

My clutch did the same thing. Replaced my clutch 2 weeks ago and it doing it again. Took it to my mechanic this morning. He say my flywheel may be warp or having burn spot. Well it been 6 hours since I gave him the car. He hasn't call me back yet so I am wondering what is going on.

Not a big deal, if it gets bad then I would say change it, but it doesnt do anything wrong and its cash and a lot of time just for a small noise, not that I can hear it, but its better then a squeling noise. (damn its early)

it would be there throwout bearing though.

Burned fly wheel. Would it really make that noise? I am using a 6 puck clutch (I got it on accident, never bothered to return it). Could that really be causing the noise? How much does a new throw out or pilot bearing cost?

Okay just to verify the information. I just got back form chicago today, I reassembled my brake system and put in a boost gauge. Drove around. When I pushed the clutch all the way in it started to rattle again and this time I could feel the vibration pretty heavily under my foot. like a spinning vibration. So Pilot bearing or throw out?

Just drop the tranny. You can inspect them both at the same time.

Clutch section.

As soon as you drop the tranny, both parts in question are right there. The pilot bearing in on the engine side in the e-shaft. The throw-out bearing will be on the tranny side.

DUDE I THINK MY CLUTCH FORK BORKE AS WELL TODAY! This mornning I got up and went to hoem depot to get some valves to regulate my boost back to 10 8 10 from a lousy 7..and I started the car up and the clutch felt really hard near the end and it started to rattle a **** load and i could feel it hard. Then when I got it back to the garage 5 minutes later, at this point i was having a lot of trouble shifting into gear and it was hard to press the pedal all the way down. So question is, how much are the 2 bearings and how much is a new fork? It might be the fork becasue I had to grind it down a little on the sides to makes it ft with the 6 puck clutch release collar from spec.
