AL Rats nest staring me in the face, what next? Trying to fix leaking fuel injector.

I'm pretty sure I've got a leaking fuel injector and I've gotten down to the rats nest.

Here's what I'm looking at and I'm not sure really what to do next. I know I need to start pulling off the hoses but when I tug on the whole thing it feels like more than just the vacuum hoses need to come off, or is that all that's really holding it on?

Any suggestions on how to proceed next greatly appreciated.

Ok... There's quite a few hoses in the pic. Can you be more specific? Or do you mean all of them?

All of them......when you remove the rat nest to reach injectors it's a wise thing to change all the hoses with silicon ones.....

If you want only remove the entire rat nest (with hoses on) just remove the hoses that go from the rat nest to other nipple...

With this photo I think you can understand what to loose if you only want to pull out the rat nest

I'm really not to worried about replacing the hoses because it looks like the they've been replaced/or are in good condition.

Thanks for replying with your pic and that's kind of what I was guessing is that I'll have to just start pulling them one by one.

I guess I was just hoping there was a more simple solution.

I know the club is tired of hearing it but I can see why people are so easy to pull the trigger on a ls swap. Jeez, besides pulling the credit card out there's really few reasons to keep this thing rotary with all of its "common" problems.

Wow they did tidy that up quite a bit. Oh well, I wish complaining fixed things but it doesn't. Time to dive in and get the hands dirty. Thanks for the help Evil Sephiroth.

If I'm not mistaken, the metal frame part of the rat's nest is bolted to the engine with at least 2 or 3 bolts. Have you tried looking through the FAQ for 3rd Gen thread or the factory service manual for injector removal instructions?
