Random thing i noticed (center taillight)
after i installed my 99 spec tails i realized that my center brake light plastic has a bluish tint to it. ive searched for many pics of fds and they all seem straight black
at first i thought it was my MB paint making it "look blue" bue when you compare the plastics side by side installed theres a bif difference, id get a pic if i can but no digi cam at the moment. nothing big..just wondering if theyre made like that stock on a usdm fd

Are these US spec tailights converted to 99spec? Or original 99spec? Because assuming they're original 99specs, the tail lights are simply newer and thus in good condition. Your center brake light is old, and has developed the bluish tint from reacting/being coated w/ exhaust fumes for 12 years Everyone I know has the same bluish/purpleish tint on their tailights (whether they realize it or not). Ditto w/ rear bumpers. Heck...my rear bumper is brand spankin new, and repainted less than a year ago. It's already getting a purplish tint to it around the exhaust haha. No emissions and a completely open exhaust tends to do that

I don't have that problem on my FD, but then I'm legal. Had a Pantera once though, and exhaust residue would get all over the back of the car. Meguiar's Cleaner #1 should take it right off without harming the paint.

Has the car been repainted? I've seen a Montego Blue that the tail-lights were taped and the bodyshop only taped the actual part where the reflectors are and didn't tape the black part, painted the car and.....well, go figure.
